    We received many queries from applicants whether the ITYF posts are still available since the Great East Japan Earthquake on March 11, 2011 and it took time for us to have corresponded with these queries. It doesn’t affect to the ITYF program. However, considering current circumstances in Japan, the JAXA ITYF Committee decided to extend the due date for a month.
  • Internship

    JAXA offers an internship program for students with a strong interest in space aeronautics to have on-site job experience related to their major and their future careers.
    This program does not relate to regular employment by JAXA.

    Rules concerning the acceptance of interns
    - JAXA accepts an applicant only if he/she meets the conditions required of an intern at JAXA in terms of the theme(s) to be pursed during the internship, work conditions, and the period of internship.
    - If the number of applicants exceeds the number to be accepted for the same theme, we will carefully screen the applicants to assign the theme to student(s).
    - In accordance with the Regulation Concerning the Acceptance of Internship, a university or school sending an intern to JAXA shall sign a memorandum of understanding concerning the internship that is entered into between the university/school and JAXA.
    - JAXA shall bear no expenses related to the internship, including travel, accommodations, and food costs.
    - No compensation, such as wages, shall be paid to an intern.
    - An intern shall take measures to ensure that the intern procures and maintains appropriate insurance coverage for payment and compensastion for losses, damages or injuries that he/she may suffer or that may be caused by him/her to JAXA and its staff during the period of his/her intenship.
    - An intern shall comply with JAXA's rules and regulations, and follow directions provided by a JAXA director in charge or supervisor.
    - The internship program does not lead to regular employment by JAXA.
    - Submitted documents are not returned to an applicant.
  • Mid-career recruitment

    JAXA is hoping to hire the mid-career employees with a various background and their own expertise. JAXA strongly expects them to engage in and advance the JAXA aerospace mission.

  • Aerospace Project Research Associate recruitment

    JAXA asks participation in various JAXA projects of young researchers with specialized knowledge which promote the projects more effectively and efficiently. Of this business, JAXA aims many talented young researchers have experiences at the space aviation-related site and learn actual operation of the projects.
