Open-house Event at Earth Observation Center

We will hold an open-house event at the Earth Observation Center (EOC) for the Sky day and Space day 2010.
We are preparing many enjoyable events including some customary events, such as the introduction of a facility for the reception, recording, and preservation of data from satellites, the exhibition of enlarged photos taken from space, hand-made rocket launches, and making a plastic plate key holder. You can come to our facility and have a picnic with your lunch box. We hope many of you join us.

Date and time:
October 2, 2010, between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
* Please enter the facility by 3:30 p.m.
* No admission fee is required.

Major Events:
  • Handmade rocket (Sixty groups are selected by drawing lots)
  • Lectures (From 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.)
  • Quiz rally
  • Making a key holder from a plastic plate
  • Puzzle corner
  • Moving satellite image corner
  • Regional products fairs
  • Selling space-related goods

We will hold an open-house event at the Earth Observation Center (EOC) for the Japan Fiscal Year 2010 Science Week.
We are preparing many enjoyable events including some customary events, such as the introduction of a facility for the reception, recording, and preservation of data from satellites, the exhibition of enlarged photos taken from space, hand-made rocket launches, and making a plastic plate key holder. You can come to our facility and have a picnic with your lunch box. We hope many of you join us.

Open-house Event at Earth Observation Center

We will hold an open-house event at the Earth Observation Center (EOC) for the Japan Fiscal Year 2009 Science Week.
On the open-house event day, a free shuttle bus will be available between "TAKASAKA" station (Tojo Line) and the EOC.

"IBUKI" Special Exhibition

The Earth Observation Center in Hatoyama-machi will hold a special exhibition for the Greenhouse Gases Observing Satellite "IBUKI," which was launched on Jan. 23 this year. The IBUKI is the world's first satellite that observes global greenhouse gases from space. Please take this opportunity to learn the current status of the Earth and its global warming, then consider what we can do now for our beautiful planet. A postcard is available for visitors as a present. Please visit us!
