Many thanks! Farewell greetings from JAXA i

The JAXA information center, JAXA i, which worked as a connecting point between people and "the sky and space" in Marunouchi, Tokyo, closed permanently on Dec. 28 (Tue.) We've been providing various information on the sky and space through events including a monthly talk show, and a live launch broadcast, and we now feel that the most precious treasure we have gained from JAXA i is the ties born between you and JAXA. We would like to consider your heartfelt support as a star of hope to strive for further development of aerospace activities. JAXA i has completed its almost six-year history, but your continued support will be very much appreciated.

Event Corner

The displays at JAXA i are divided into two zones. The first zone from the entrance to the reception desk covers a permanent exhibition corner and a display space for special events. The zone is designed to promote interest in aerospace activities by displaying familiar themes such as "Earth to Space" and "Aerospace Technologies that are Useful for Daily Lives and the Open Lab." The other zone, from the reception desk to the mini-theater, provides the latest information through panels and Internet terminals that aim to provide more information about JAXA including its popular missions.

Exhibition

LE-7A Engine

Sokol Space Suit

H-IIB Launch Vehicle

A popular attraction among the displays at JAXA i is the "LE-7A" engine, the first stage engine of Japan's flagship launch vehicle "H-IIA." Its size is very overwhelming! The most favorite display at present is a very precise replica of a space suit placed in front of the engine. The suit is extremely popular as it is the only place in Japan where you can put your face in the suit to take a commemorative photo.

Live Launch Event

When an H-IIA Launch Vehicle is launched, a live broadcast is shown at the OO square on the first floor of Marunouchi Oazo.
