Preamble
The National Aeronautics and Space
Administration (hereafter referred to as "NASA") and the Russian Space Agency
(hereafter referred to as "RSA"), jointly referred to as "The Parties." have
agreed to cooperate in the area of human space flight. This cooperative program
consists of three inter-related projects: the flight of Russian cosmonauts on
the U.S. Space Shuttle; the flight of U.S. astronauts on the Mir Space Station;
and a joint mission involving the rendezvous and docking of the U.S. Space
Shuttle with the Mir Space Station. These will be jointly referred to in the
future as the "Shuttle-Mir Program."
